Stanthorpe has been selected to take part in the Ready Communities program, a nationally recognised place-based approach that supports regional towns to shape their own future, on their own terms.
Over the next two years, Ready Communities will work alongside local people, organisations, businesses and leaders to build the conditions that help good ideas turn into real outcomes. This isn’t about bringing in outside solutions or running one-off workshops. It’s about creating shared clarity on what matters locally, strengthening connections, building local capability, encouraging purposeful collaboration and helping the region confidently tell its story.
As part of this journey, Stanthorpe will also host the national Social Impact in the Regions Conference in September 2026. That means a 10-month lead-in program before the conference and 12 months of follow-on support after, ensuring the benefits stay in the community long after visitors leave.
The first step is a series of community forums on 10 and 11 February, open to anyone who cares about Stanthorpe’s future. These forums are a chance to hear what the program is about, ask questions, share local perspectives and help identify the focus areas that will guide the work ahead.
Whether you’re involved in business, agriculture, health, education, community groups, local government, or you’re simply someone who wants to see Stanthorpe thrive, your voice matters.
This is an opportunity for the community to come together early, shape the direction of the program, and make sure it reflects the real priorities of the region.
