A forum on place-based research is being held on 4 September in Stanthorpe, as Day 3 of the fourth annual Social Impact in the Regions conference.

The forum brings researchers, practitioners, and community members together to work through a shared working definition of place-based research, the current state of the field in Australia, and what a larger place-based research symposium in 2027 might look like. Part of the conversation focuses on how better research infrastructure might be developed for regional place-based research.
