Investment Ready Communities: Make sustainable change possible in regional areas

This event is part of Philanthropy Week in QLD
JB Were: L17, 259 Queen Street Brisbane
Many community initiatives begin with strong ideas and generous funding, yet some gain momentum while others struggle to take hold. In regional communities this challenge can be amplified by distance, smaller local ecosystems and limited access to support. While philanthropy is increasingly interested in supporting regional Australia, the options often sit at two extremes: flying in experts for short interventions or committing to long and cost intensive place-based programs.
Through our work at Ready Communities we have been exploring a practical middle ground by focusing on community readiness. We develop five foundations that support locally led change: Clarity and Understanding, Connection and Connectivity, Capability and Capacity, Collaboration for Purpose, and Advocacy and Promotion. This session introduces the readiness approach, shares case studies and insights from our work with regional communities, and highlights new initiatives beginning in Queensland this year. Participants will explore how strengthening these foundations can help communities become investment ready and translate ideas and funding into lasting impact.
