SUMMARY:Ready Stanthorpe: Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:(NOTE: this meeting replaces earlier advertised meetings) \nReady Communities invites you to a facilitated conversation on what matters in your community. In this meeting we will cover: \n\nAn update on the Ready Stanthorpe Program and the Social Impact in the Regions 2026 conference in September;\nShare insights from our mapping work and emerging opportunities to date and feedback we have seen on readiness and the Stanthorpe readiness Index; and\nConsider practical ways the next six months can help activate opportunities in Stanthorpe and how these ideas can be incorporated into the Social Impact in the Regions Conference program.\n\nThere will be two meetings on Thursday 26 March. Both will cover all identified focus areas: \n\nSustainability: How we are here tomorrow – connection to place and the land\, environment\nCultural practices: How we do things around here – creative industries/local culture\, First Nations\nLiveability: How we live – housing\, essential services\, infrastructure\nCommunity contribution: How we come together – youth\, volunteering\, community contribution\, connection\, leadership\, decision-making\nLocal economy: How we work – Industry Synergy and Workforce\, Sustainability\, Food\, Nature-Based tourism\, the Visitor Economy\n\nIf you’d like to have a yarn with the Ready Communities team\, Chad or Kerry on or before the Community Conversation and/or if you’re interested in being a Local Impact Facilitator and showcase a Stanthorpe opportunity to a national audience get in touch with Chad or Kerry. \nBackground \nFollowing a series of Community Forums in February the Ready Communities team invites people who would like to get involved in building readiness in the Stanthorpe community leading into the national Social Impact in the Regions conference (2-4 September 2026). In the Community Forums we asked what people love about Stanthorpe and what opportunities they would like to bring to life. The opportunities were then collated across five themes: \n\nSustainability: How we are here tomorrow – connection to place and the land\, environment\nCultural practices: How we do things around here – creative industries/local culture\, First Nations\nLiveability: How we live – housing\, essential services\, infrastructure\nCommunity contribution: How we come together – youth\, volunteering\, community contribution\, connection\, leadership\, decision-making\nLocal economy: How we work – Industry Synergy and Workforce\, Sustainability\, Food\, Nature-Based Tourism\, the Visitor Economy\n\nThe next steps are: (1) to engage a Local Impact Facilitator for each focus area and (2) to identify projects to showcase at Social Impact in the Regions and in our annual White Paper and Impact Report (3) to continue learning what we can about the Stanthorpe community and surrounds so we can showcase an authentic picture of the host community at the conference.
